Agriculture Education on the Move™ Lessons Reach Thousands of Missouri Elementary Students
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — This fall, Agriculture Education on the Move™ (Ag Moves) educators are bringing hands-on agricultural lessons to 5,688 elementary students at 97 schools across the state.
These educators, many of whom are Missouri FFA members, had the opportunity to participate in Ag Moves FFA Partner Training Days hosted in Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Maryville and Springfield. During each day-long training, FFA partner educators explored the full Ag Moves curriculum, as well as classroom management strategies that help ensure a successful teaching experience.
“Ag Moves gives students the opportunity to learn by doing, whether they are germinating a soybean seed, exploring soil, learning about livestock or discovering where the products they use every day come from,” said Ag Moves Program Director Heather Fletcher. “At the same time, our student educators are gaining experience that builds their confidence and leadership skills. We are excited to see them take what they learned during training days into classrooms across Missouri this fall.”
Ag Moves lessons introduce elementary students to the agriculture concepts that surround them, including crops, livestock, soil and water conservation, nutrition and career paths. Each lesson includes a hands-on activity designed to help students connect what they are learning to the food, fuel and fiber they use every day. The curriculum aligns with Missouri elementary learning standards and is provided at no cost to participating schools through the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation and additional supporters in Missouri’s agriculture industry.
“Missouri agriculture understands that agricultural literacy starts at a young age,” said Missouri Farmers Care Executive Director Ashley McCarty. “Ag Moves gives elementary students an opportunity to see the connection between agriculture and their everyday lives, while giving young leaders the opportunity to share that story in their own communities.”
During the 2025-26 school year, Ag Moves partner educators engaged 13,682 elementary students across Missouri. A list of schools receiving Ag Moves programming during this fall semester can be found at https://www.agmoves.com/news/2026-fall-enrollments.
