The Ag Education on the Move™ program experienced continued momentum and interest in 2016. FFA and Agri-Ready partnerships, along with the Career-Ready Series, provided new audiences and outlets for agriculture education and dialogue. Continued expansion in both urban and rural areas, reached over 180 classrooms and over 4,000 students with STEM activities, agriculture science and education.

The hands-on component provides fun and interactive learning. Teachers and administration equally benefit from the program content, and show interest in learning about agriculture. We also had growth in FFA partnerships, developing leadership, mentorship and speaking experience for young FFA leaders, and learning for elementary students. We will continue efforts to provide rural communities with agriculture education and outreach, while also expanding urban efforts.

“We recognize there are existing high-quality, credible resources developed by commodity checkoff groups and other organizations. We simply work to provide a vehicle and bring those quality resources to the classroom, so we can ensure the message is being delivered,” says Program Director, Luella Gregory.
